Job summary

Hayward Lumber in Santa Maria, CA is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to oversee stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and reconcile inventory discrepancies. You will coordinate with purchasing and sales to maintain accurate counts and proper storage practices, while helping minimize shrink and ensure inventory accuracy.

The role requires strong computer skills, proficient use of Word/Excel, and clear communication with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory integrity by monitoring sales and receipt transactions and ensuring accurate counts.
• Ensure daily on-hand material count matches computed perpetual inventory and document processes.
• Report, research, adjust and correct inventory as needed.
• Keep cycle count calendar up to date and ensure counts are performed on time.
• Minimize inventory shrink and ensure any loss follows company guidelines.
• Track damaged items and route through appropriate sales or adjustments.
• Monitor alerts and back-orders, non-stock items or returns.
• Identify and correct incorrect orders or transactions to sales or receipt.
• Request and implement SKU changes or bin location corrections as needed.
• Review reports to discover and fix errors in sales or receipt transactions.
• Assist management in reducing shrink and implementing improvements.
• Prepare branch for annual physical inventory.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory levels to ensure that a company’s stock is accurate, organized, and available as needed. Key duties include tracking inventory, conducting regular stock audits, reconciling discrepancies, coordinating with purchasing and sales teams to manage stock levels, and ensuring proper storage and handling of goods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory integrity by ensuring the effective monitoring of sales and receipt transactions reflecting accurate inventory counts, and executing proper solutions to inventory control as considered necessary.
• Ensure that the physical on-hand material count matches the computed perpetual inventory count on a daily basis including documenting process
• Reporting, researching, adjusting and correcting inventory as needed
• Ensure the cycle count calendar is up to date and counts are performed on time
• Ensure inventory shrink is limited and any loss is within company guidelines
• Track and properly handle all damaged items through appropriate sales or adjustments
• Review alerts and monitor back-ordered sales and non-stock items or return frequently
• Identify incorrect orders or transactions and correct errors to sales or receipt
• Prevent incorrect and untimely transactions by requesting and creating any changes or additions to SKU as required as well as corrections to bin locations
• Utilize and review reports to discover and correct any errors to sales or receipt transactions
• Assist the management team in limiting actual and potential shrink (loss of product) both physical and electronic and recommend necessary improvements
• Prepare the branch for annual physical inventory
