Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking an Inventory Control professional for the Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx) division in North Carolina. You will manage warehouse inventory for NNPILP-IFP, emphasizing material support processes and ensuring product quality through verification and temperature monitoring.

You will work under the Supervisor, Material Support, applying ERP/WMS tools to optimize inventory movements, conduct cycle counts, and support audits across multiple sites.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in GMP warehouse or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Minimum 2 years using computerized inventory systems (SAP or PASX).
  • Ability to read and understand all department documentation.
  • Basic math with metric system.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word).
  • Experience with automated warehousing solutions preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hazardous materials handling knowledge preferred.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Willing to learn Lean basics and training.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical inventory of ambient and cold storage locations.
  • Use automated reports to analyze material staging, returns, pick orders, and consumption.
  • Assist audits for on-site and off-site warehouses.
  • Perform ERP and WMS system maintenance.
  • Use ERP & WMS for material movements and inventory adjustments.
  • Lead problem-solving for inventory discrepancies.
  • Lead process improvements on site inventory trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx) is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees. The Position

Perform warehouse inventory control activities for NNPILP-IFP with an emphasis on material support processes within the warehouse, aseptic production, & finished production. Ensure quality of product through quantity verification & temperature monitoring.

Relationships

Supervisor, Material Support.

Essential Functions
  • Physical inventory of warehouse ambient & cold storage locations in accordance with the warehouse cycle counting schedule
  • Utilization of automated reports for analysis of material staging locations, material return locations, pick order fulfilment, & material consumption by aseptic & finished production lines
  • Support accounting audits for on-site & off-site warehouse locations
  • Perform system maintenance on ERP & WMS systems
  • Utilization of ERP & WMS for material movement transactions, inventory adjustments, & process verifications of warehouse processes
  • Lead systematic problem-solving efforts relating to material inventory & material consumption discrepancies
  • Lead process improvement efforts relating to site trends in material inventory, material transactions & material consumption
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require colour vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site. May position oneself within confined spaces for inspection if required of the role. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle based on the role.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent required, Associate's Degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience, preferably in a GMP warehouse or pharmaceutical industry required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience with a computerized inventory system such as SAP or PASX required
  • Ability to read, write legibly, & understand all department documentation required
  • Basic math skills including knowledge of metric system preferred
  • Computer competencies required basic Microsoft Office knowledge: Outlook, Power Point, Teams & Word required
  • Experience with automated warehousing solutions preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles/Six Sigma required
  • Good written & verbal communications skills preferred
  • Training or experience to demonstrate an understanding of the risks inherent to the processing, handling & storage of hazardous materials preferred
  • Ability to operate stand-up & sit-down forklifts preferred
  • Willing to learn Lean manufacturing concepts through completion of cLEAN Basic & 1 Star training preferred
  • Good organizational skills preferred
  • Ability to execute a work plan & adapt to changes in the schedule preferred
