Job summary

JOST International Corp is seeking an Inventory Clerk to maintain the integrity of the perpetual inventory, identify and record product, and support labeling and container coordination. This role reports to the Inventory Control Supervisor in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include barcode-based data capture, confirming accurate labels, assisting with cycle counts, and contributing to 5S/LEAN initiatives while complying with company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; willingness to collaborate.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems (SAP, AS400) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• One year of experience in manufacturing or distribution.
• Ability to obtain forklift certifications for sit-down and stand-up equipment.

Responsibilities

INTRODUCTION

This position reports to the Inventory Control Supervisor. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

INVENTORY CLERK – Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the perpetual inventory through part identification, recording, labelling, & coordinating product.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

• a) Efficiently identify and record product coming from Paint Line through barcode system.
• b) Ensure labels are securely and accurately affixed to the container.
• c) Coordinate container placement for fulfillment.
• d) Assist with collaborative cycle counts.
• e) Work to maintain high level of associate morale and recognition.
• f) Work closely with staff and supervisor to develop and document inventory control procedures.
• g) Assists in the enforcement of the 5S and LEAN housekeeping initiatives.
• h) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated but which may be assigned, and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

REQUIREMENTS

• a) Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to collaborate with others.
• b) Working knowledge of MRP systems; SAP, AS400 and advanced skills Microsoft Office; Excel, Word.
• c) One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• d) Ability to obtain JOST International Fork Truck Certifications for sit down and stand up.
• e) Demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• f) Ability to work independently; must be comfortable in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• g) Ability to bring forth continuous improvement ideas and implement where appropriate.
• h) Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• a) Work is generally performed in a production plant 90 % of time and 10 % in a warehouse setting.
• b) While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and regularly will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 50 pounds or less with or without assistance.
