Job summary

McKesson is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Associate to support inventory accuracy, returns processing, product reclamation, and warehouse operations in our distribution center. This role focuses on cycle counts, audits, discrepancy investigations, and maintaining precise records while ensuring regulatory compliance and customer service excellence.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with overtime as required. Base pay range shown: $20.32-$33.86/hour.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of related inventory experience.
  • Experience with cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and data entry.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy by cycle counts, inventories, and reconciliations.
  • Investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Process customer and vendor returns, product reclamations, and RTV transactions per procedures.
  • Identify, document, and disposition damaged, expired, recalled, or non-conforming products while maintaining records.
  • Use WMS and inventory tools to track movements, adjustments, and control activities.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment and support warehouse organization and inventory flow.
  • Follow safety, quality, and operational standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Inventory Associate

About the Role

McKesson is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Associate to support inventory accuracy, returns processing, product reclamation, and warehouse operations within our distribution center. This role plays an important part in maintaining inventory integrity through cycle counting, inventory audits, discrepancy investigation, and inventory control activities. The successful candidate will help ensure products are properly tracked, stored, returned, and documented while supporting operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer service excellence.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts, inventory audits, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Process customer returns, vendor returns, product reclamations, and return-to-vendor (RTV) transactions in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, document, and appropriately disposition damaged, expired, recalled, or non-conforming products while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management tools to track inventory movements, adjustments, and inventory control activities.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment and support efficient warehouse organization, product storage, and inventory flow.
  • Follow safety, quality, and operational standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Requirements
  • Typically requires 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience performing inventory counts, inventory reconciliation, stock control, or inventory tracking activities.
  • Ability to use basic computer applications and accurately enter and maintain inventory records.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
Preferred Skills & Experience (Nice to Haves)
  • Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain environments, including inventory audits, cycle counting, returns processing, and inventory management activities.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and inventory management software such as SAP, Acumax, or similar systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills with a focus on inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification) and a continuous improvement mindset committed to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Physical Requirements

Distribution center or warehouse environment. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and material handling throughout the shift. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Regular use of warehouse equipment and inventory management technology. Flexibility to work overtime, varying shifts, weekends, or holidays as business needs require.
