Job summary

CarMax Fairfield is seeking an Inventory Associate to maintain accurate vehicle inventory and support store operations in a fast-paced environment. You will ensure vehicles are prepared for listing, received securely, and displayed neatly, with attention to EH&S standards.

Responsibilities include processing title packets, unloading shipments, and preparing cars for customer returns and loaners. A valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Possess valid driver's license and meet driving standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and transcribe inventory data.
• Completed Inventory Associate workstation certifications.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work indoors/outdoors.
• Flexible availability incl. nights, weekends, holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

• Follow CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for this position is: $22.20 - $30.96

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory by following CarMax inventory processes.
• Receive and secure vehicles shipped to CarMax and prepare title packets for transfers.
• Perform lot maintenance and merchandising, ensuring display areas are clean and organized.
• Prep vehicles for customer returns and loaners, including washing and vacuuming.

• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet CarMax driving standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and accurately transcribe data for inventory records.
• Completion of Inventory Associate workstation certifications and assigned trainings.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time. Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible: To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company. For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay. Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
