Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach on campus and in-person, employing lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids. The role involves engaging students, maintaining a disciplined learning environment, and meeting program goals.

Under the Dean of General Education, you’ll also advise and mentor students, grade assessments, and participate in ongoing professional development and academic committees. A master’s degree and relevant teaching experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Masters’ degree or higher from an accredited program recognized in the U.S. required.
  • Minimum of 15 credit hours in the assigned subject area required.
  • Master’s degree in the discipline OR a Master’s degree with 18 relevant graduate credits.
  • Two years of practical experience in the course content area, or three years if the degree is in an unrelated field.
  • Three years of work experience as an educator is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach on campus and in person using lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids.
  • Keep students engaged in class following the established curriculum/syllabus.
  • Create a positive educational climate and communicate clear learning objectives.
  • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
  • Manage student behavior in classroom/online and observe student performance.
  • Identify and refer students at risk of not succeeding to Student Success Coordinator.
  • Provide ongoing advisement and tutoring on an individual basis.
  • Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books and attendance.
  • Administer tests to measure progress and participate in professional development sessions.
  • Participate in academic committees for program and student enrichment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
