Job summary

Kent Hospital seeks an experienced perioperative RN to direct patient care during intraoperative procedures in line with AORN standards. You will collaborate with surgeons and staff to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities include preparing and testing equipment, maintaining aseptic technique, documenting care, and supporting the patient through anesthesia induction and recovery, with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with RI licensure and BLS certification.
• Minimum of three years of related OR/nursing experience.
• Direct patient care in intraoperative setting per approved protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under an approved protocol and adjust care to outcomes.
• Assess patient information and develop care plan to meet needs.
• Prepare and test surgical equipment prior to procedures.
• Support and educate patient before anesthesia induction.
• Monitor patient needs intraoperatively and collaborate with the team.
• Document all care-related information.
• Maintain aseptic technique and report deviations.
• Communicate with physicians and departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Prepare for post-discharge patient care and follow-up.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and attending trainings.
