Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced intraoperative neuromonitoring technologist to perform advanced techniques such as ABR, Cranial mapping, Cortical and Subcortical mapping in the surgical setting. This role requires CNIM registry and 5-7 years of relevant experience.

You will train junior team members, troubleshoot complex issues, contribute to programs and policies, and ensure high-quality Neurodiagnostic testing while maintaining patient safety and professional communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • CNIM registry and competency requirements.
  • Ability to adapt tests and modify protocols to fit patient needs.
  • Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and sustained concentration.
  • Strong data acquisition, analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to care for patients of all ages.
  • Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform advanced intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring techniques (ABR, Cranial mapping, Cortical/ Subcortical mapping, DCMEPs, etc.).
  • Train and precept junior team members.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and assist others in troubleshooting.
  • Assist in creating programs, reports, and guidelines/policies/procedures for the team.
  • Meet patient needs and maintain high-quality Neurodiagnostic testing.
  • Promote cooperative working relationships and professional communication.

Job Description:

Independently performs advanced techniques, including ABR, Cranial mapping, Cortical Mapping, Subcortical Mapping, Phase Reversal, ECOG, ECOG for ADs, DCMEPs, as well as other modalities in and outside the surgical setting (Clinical EPs, EEG/NT, Autonomics, MEG, sEEG, etc). Trains and precepts junior team members. Troubleshot complex issues and assists others in troubleshooting. Assists in creating programs, reports, and guidelines/policies/procedures for the team. Meets patient needs, demonstrates willingness to learn new skills, and provides accurate and high-quality Neurodiagnostic testing. Promotes a cooperative working relationship with each other, physicians, other disciplines and the public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty and respect, and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires registry in CNIM. Requires the ability to meet all requirements of competencies in which Registries are held, and performs advanced techniques in the IONM field.
  • Requires initiative towards the application of tests and modifies established protocols to fit patient needs.
  • Requires manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to concentrate for extended amounts of time under stressful conditions in order to properly and effectively administer Neurophysiological monitoring and testing.
  • Requires strong data acquisition, analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Requires the ability to care for patients of all ages.
  • Requires current BLS certification.
