This position serves as a role model for officials by demonstrating professionalism, strong communication skills, and sound judgment during all intramural events.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Officiate intramural sports contests according to established rules and policies.* Serve as the lead official during assigned games and special events.* Assist with training, mentoring, and evaluating new officials.* Ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants.* Manage game flow, resolve conflicts, and address participant concerns professionally.* Interpret and enforce intramural sports rules consistently and fairly.* Complete incident and injury reports when necessary.* Assist supervisors with game setup, equipment management, and facility inspections.* Communicate effectively with participants, team captains, and recreation staff.* Support the mission and goals of the competitive sports program.**Required Qualifications*** Must be a current employee for Competitive Sports with a minimum of one semester of employment.* Knowledge of rules and mechanics and experience officiating for two or more major sports within Intramural Sports at Penn State.* Strong leadership and communication skills.* Availability to work a minimum of two shifts per week.
