Northern Trust is seeking a highly organized professional to support Relationship Management and client servicing in a banking environment. You will handle account administration, client communications, and ensure compliance with KYC/AML procedures while coordinating with back office teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assists Relationship Manager with internal administration of accounts, business development and client presentations for Banking.
  • Clarifies client needs and communicates to Lead RM, gathering information for service changes or transactions.
  • Familiar with KYC and Enhanced Due Diligence, updates KYC/CRF as applicable.
  • Develops understanding of Northern’s inbound wealth certification process.
  • Maintains client communication regarding account setup, status, documents, or other information.
  • Coordinates with back office on deposit transactions and daily client activity, including account openings and exception handling.
  • Submits complete new accounts/prospects packages to AML for review.

Major Duties
  • Assists Relationship Manager with the internal administration of accounts, business development and client presentations for Banking
  • Develops a clear understanding of the client’s need behind service requests and communicates to Lead RM. Obtains appropriate information from partners and clients to facilitate service changes or transactions
  • Well versed with Northern’s KYC and Enhanced Due Diligence procedures and updates the KYC/CRF when applicable
  • Develops an in depth understanding of Northern’s “Inbound Wealth” certification process
  • Communicates with clients regularly to inform them of account set-up or status, past due loans, document requests or other information
  • Coordinates with the back office (CSST) on deposit related transaction processing and to execute daily client transaction activity including account opening, exception clearing, overdrafts, fees; handles inquiry resolution; obtains appropriate documentation necessary for bank account openings, monitoring and file maintenance; requests and ensures systems information is up-to-date; execution of client servicing events, communicating with clients and other internal and external partners
  • Completes and submits complete package of new accounts / prospects to AML for review
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of banking products and services is required
  • Flexibility, to accommodate the needs of a client or a situation at hand
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, World, Power Point, etc.)
  • Languages - Fluent Spanish required
  • Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a job discipline
Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience, or equivalent, in financial servicing field with client servicing background
