Interventionist Teacher - IDEA Edgemere College Prep (Immediate Opening).
This position is grant-funded with Title I Part A funds. Funding may be extended; no guarantee of ongoing employment. Employee will work 100% on allowable activities outlined in the grant.
Role Mission
The IDEA Interventionist Teacher intervenes with small groups of students with identified gaps of 2 or more years in Reading and/or Math, aiming to close that gap by 2 years in one school year. Uses universal screening, Direct Instruction intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive, research-based instruction. Supports students at risk or underperforming relative to grade- or age-level standards and prepares them for IDEA’s AP for All initiative.
Responsibilities
- Teach district-approved, research-based interventions to small groups of students across multiple grade levels (Kinder through 12th, depending on campus) who are academically at risk in reading and/or math, including students in general education, 504, RTI, Special Education, and English Language Learners.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate support.
- Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments; deliver content and grade-level curriculum and objectives.
- Prepare weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance and implement formal/informal assessments to monitor progress; adjust plans accordingly and update gradebook weekly.
- Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
- Facilitate effective use of technology to support learning and communication; implement a consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
- Engage in school-wide culture, build relationships with students and families, and participate in tutoring sessions as needed.
- Attend weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before/after-school duties, and school-wide events; participate in district, school, and personal professional development; minimum 40+ hours on site per week.
- Other duties as assigned based on grant requirements and campus needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $58,500, with stipends ranging from $500-$4,000 based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership. Potential to earn up to $10,000 in additional compensation via the Teacher Career Pathway.
- Additional hourly compensation for after-school tutoring or Saturday sessions as assigned.

Qualifications
- High content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA with teaching certification, field of study, or relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution.
- Experience in a K-12 classroom is strongly preferred.
- State certification preferred but not required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of the core academic subject and ability to pass an IDEA content assessment.
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction; ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; adaptability to various school environments.
