Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dedicated instructional aide to provide supplemental services within core curriculum areas. You will collaborate with campus staff to tailor lessons and materials to students’ learning needs, working with individuals and small groups to close gaps in understanding.

Responsibilities include implementing targeted instructional programs, conducting regular assessments, and maintaining accurate records.

  • Establish and maintain open communication with students, principals, and students.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Assistant Principal.

SUMMARY

To provide students supplemental instructional services with appropriate learning activities in targeted areas of core curriculum to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual growth. Collaborative with campus personnel to prepare lessons and instructional materials to address students' learning needs. Work with individual and small groups to provide supplemental instruction to close learning gaps.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Valid Texas Teaching Certificate.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, administration, staff, parents, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Texas Teaching Certificate preferred
