Job summary

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school Diploma is required.
• New York State Radiology Technologist license is required.
• Current ARRT Radiology registration is required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 1-3 years of technical experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs exams under the direction of a Senior Special Procedures Technologist and maintains quality assurance.
• Demonstrates ability to access patient information such as appointment times, type of exam, and patient reports.
• Competent in scheduling exams in a computer application from the order entry queue and/or demonstrates the ability to modify exams when necessary.
• Effectively assesses patients information and status and implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
• Explains the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly.
• Positions patient and radiographic equipment appropriate to the body part(s) to be radiographed and adjusts equipment settings accordingly and demonstrates skill in equipment setup, utilization and proper maintenance procedure.
