Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus is seeking an Interventional Vascular Technologist to provide technical assistance during diagnostic and interventional procedures. You will acquire and process images, ensuring accuracy and clarity while gaining opportunities to learn and grow within the Cleveland Clinic system. Work shifts rotate from 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Registered Technologist credentialed by ARRT and in good standing.
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• Knowledgeable in sterile technique and maintaining a sterile environment.

Responsibilities

• Scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during and after exams.
• Record and maintain procedural data (injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time).
• Monitor equipment and coordinate timely repairs.
• Provide training, supervision, mentoring for new hires and students.

As an Interventional Vascular Technologist, you will provide technical assistance with diagnostic and interventional procedures. Using your training and advanced knowledge, you will acquire and process all images, ensuring accuracy and clarity. A caregiver in this role works rotating shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m with rotating every other weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Utilize sterile or aseptic techniques to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.
• Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects.
• Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information.
• Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effects timely repair.
• Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
• Provide training, supervision, mentoring, and evaluation support for new hires, students, and other clinical learners as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
• Basic Life Support through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification
• Knowledgeable of sterile technique with ability to create and maintain sterile environment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
• Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography: R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiology: R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT)
• Previous experience in high volume angiography department
• Knowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment to safely inject and image human vascular anatomy
• Knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology sufficient to apply to interventional and diagnostic exams

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $34.50
Maximum hourly: $51.00
