Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform a wide range of imaging procedures under IR supervision. You will operate angiography equipment, ensure high-quality images, verify orders, and maintain patient safety and accurate documentation in HIS, RIS, and PACS.

This role emphasizes compassionate patient care, strict safety practices, and close collaboration with radiologists, technologists, and nursing staff in a busy IR suite at New Haven.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program; AS degree required, BS degree preferred.
• Minimum 9 months experience as a Radiologic Technologist; hospital experience preferred; OR imaging experience preferred.
• RT(R) certification by ARRT; Connecticut license and CPR certification; VI credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of technical duties to ensure proper imaging procedures with angiography and other equipment.
• Sets up angiographic equipment and selects accession number from modality work list.
• Produces high quality images during and after procedures for accurate interpretation.
• Verifies physician orders on requisitions 100% of the time.
• Ensures supplies for procedures are available to maximize safety and efficiency.
• Provides disposable and other equipment to physicians for procedures.
• Maintains patient records using HIS, RIS, PACS, and QA modules to ensure integrity and billing accuracy.
• Ensures cases are scheduled, started, and completed in RIS in a timely manner.
• Maintains professional attitude and supports team efforts to maximize throughput and service quality.
• Participates in room prep, restocking, and assisting others when own tasks are complete.
• Delivers compassionate patient care following age-appropriate standards to ensure cooperation, safety, and satisfaction.
• Greets patients and introduces self and others to patients.
