Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform complex diagnostic and interventional procedures under a radiologist's direction, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.

You will work with radiologists and care teams to deliver high-quality imaging, accurate EMR/PACS documentation, and strict infection control, while managing equipment, supplies, and radiation safety measures.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv required; Associate's preferred; Field of Study: Radiology
  • Registered Technologist – Radiography RT(R)(ARRT) required; Basic Life Support (CPR) required
  • 1+ years experience preferred in radiology or interventional settings

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Prepares and maintains a sterile field, ensuring proper technique and infection control.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure imaging continuity and patient care.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in EMR and PACS systems.
  • Operates and maintains imaging equipment safely and minimizes radiation exposure.
  • Supports inventory and supply management, including checking expirations and stocking supplies.
  • Prepares and administers contrast agents as directed, following safety protocols.
  • Participates in time-out and procedural verification processes to ensure patient identification and site accuracy.
  • Positions patients and equipment to capture high-quality real-time images.

Job Description
  • Performs complex diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Prepares and maintains a sterile field, ensuring proper technique and adherence to infection control standards throughout procedures.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
  • Ensures quality in imaging, patient care, and workflow.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Supports inventory and supply management, including checking expirations dates, stocking of supplies, and notifying appropriate personnel of shortages.
  • Operates and maintains equipment safely, properly wears Dosimeter badge, and minimizes radiation exposure.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares and administers contrast agents as directed, following safety protocols and monitoring for adverse reactions.
  • Participates in time-out and procedural verification processes, ensuring correct patient identification, procedure, and site.
  • Positions patients and equipment appropriately, and operates fluoroscopy and imaging systems to capture high-quality, real-time images for accurate guidance.

  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]

Education
