Job description
Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Summary:

Performs and assists in direct and indirect patient care and procedures under the supervision of a physician during cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures. Demonstrates critical thinking to ensure safe, quality care for adult and geriatric patients. Documents accurately and promptly. Communicates and collaborates with healthcare team members. Adheres to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting physicians in invasive procedures such as cardiac cath, vascular angiograms, stenting, pacemaker implants, and others.
  • Assessing and documenting patient history, including diagnosis, clinical presentation, allergies, labs, medications, vital signs, patient concerns, NPO status, consent, and consciousness level.
  • Starting and maintaining IV access and oxygen therapy per orders.
  • Utilizing sterile techniques.
  • Providing post-procedure and discharge instructions.
  • Developing and analyzing action plans for procedures.
  • Performing glucometer testing, EKG monitoring, and radiographic procedures.
  • Administering prescribed medications under physician supervision, including sedation and cardiac medications.
  • Delivering organized, efficient interventions to meet patient needs.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members and healthcare providers.
  • Providing health education to patients and families regarding treatments and procedures.
Education and Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program emphasizing anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, and communication skills.
  • Current radiographer license from Ohio Department of Health.
  • Current ARRT registry as an R.T. (Advanced registry in CV, CI, or VI preferred).
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification.
  • ACLS certification required within one year.
  • RCIS certification preferred.
Additional Information:

The department has a great team led by a well-respected director. The position is full-time, with working hours from 8 am to 5:30 pm, on-call rotation one day a week, and every 4th weekend. Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $90,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package.
