Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, AL seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety. You will adhere to radiation safety principles and state/federal regulations while delivering compassionate patient care.

The role includes equipment positioning, image quality assessment, contrast administration, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Must be registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation.
• Demonstrates professional judgment and maintains a demeanor that supports quality care.
• Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
• Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Adheres to Baptist Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
• Assesses patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
• Provides clear instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Positions patient and equipment to achieve high quality images for interpretation.

• Participates in Quality Control standards and tasks.
• Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration and manages adverse reactions.
• Applies standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross-contamination.
• Assists in supervision and training of student technologists and new technologists.
• Utilizes Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and ensures patient safety.
• Maintains cleanliness and organized work areas.
• Provides patient transport as needed.

• Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
• Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
• Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration.
• Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
• Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
• Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Ensures safety of all customers.
• Maintains reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.

Qualifications

Education/Training Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification AND • Must be registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
