Job summary

Methodist Olive Branch is seeking an Interventional Radiologic Technologist on a PRN basis. You will perform interventional radiology procedures using advanced radiographic equipment and maintain strict regulatory and quality standards.

There is a call requirement of up to 3 days per month, including one full weekend, with strong emphasis on patient-centered care, teamwork, and adherence to Methodist Le Bonheur mission and values.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or radiology diploma required
• Radiology work experience preferred
• Current licenses and certifications required as listed

Call Requirements

Call Call Requirements: Up to 3 days of call per month required in the IR/Cath Combo Lab (Including 1 full weekend: Friday 1700 to Monday 0630)

Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks in operating radiographic equipment to perform interventional procedures.

Performs complex specialized tasks associated with operation of radiographic equipment to perform interventional procedures.

Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.

Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment.

Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.

Demonstrates professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions.

Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.

Licenses and Certifications Requirements

• Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
• Required - Medical Radiation Technologist - Mississippi - Mississippi State Department of Health
• Required - Registered Radiologic Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.

Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).

Supervision Provided by this Position

There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities to other Associates.

The incumbent will observe and instruct student technologists.

Physical Demands

The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.

The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.

Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to radiation, hazardous or poisonous materials. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
