Job summary

UPMC Williamsport invites qualified imaging professionals to join its Interventional Radiology team as an Interventional Technologist. This role performs a variety of specialized imaging procedures requiring independent judgment and attention to patient safety, in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional imaging procedures with proper positioning and radiographic principles.
• Administer contrast per protocols under proceduralist direction.
• Prepare patients, monitor status, and ensure a safe, positive experience.
• Verify patient identity and follow universal/timeout protocols.
• Review histories, orders, and protocols to ensure image quality and outcomes.
• Maintain sterile environment and aseptic technique.
• Educate patients about procedures with clear, compassionate communication.
• Document patient information and procedure details in the EMR.
• Ensure exams are coded, tracked, archived, and charged.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and technologists for high-quality care.
• Assist other imaging areas with radiographic procedures as needed.
