Job summary

The Interventional Radiology Technologist at IHA performs specialized invasive and non-invasive radiologic procedures in collaboration with physicians and radiology team to deliver high-quality diagnostic images. The role emphasizes ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.

Full-time 40 hours with day shift and call coverage; cross training available and leadership opportunities in the absence of leads. Completion of ARRT and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• Certification as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and willingness to maintain certification thereafter.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to function with limited or no supervision in normal circumstances.
• Ability to assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of lead and/or manager.
• Ability to recognize pathology and modify examination to provide a complete diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs a variety of specialized invasive and non-invasive diagnostic radiologic procedures in collaboration with the physicians or advanced practitioners and the radiology team.
• The Interventional Radiology Technologist operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain optimal quality radiographs for interpretation by physicians, with attention to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) techniques.
