Job summary

IR Centers, a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab, is seeking a Surgical Assistant to prepare patients and rooms for procedures, assist physicians during interventions, and help with positioning and transfers.

You will maintain a sterile field, manage instruments, and operate imaging equipment while ensuring HIPAA and safety standards. This role supports outpatient IR services across the United States.

Qualifications

• Certification in medical assisting, radiologic technology, or equivalent training.
• Experience in interventional radiology or cath lab is preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and radiation safety (ALARA).
• Familiarity with PACS and imaging documentation is a plus.
• Ability to monitor patients and assist with post-procedure care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and procedure rooms for surgeries.
• Pass instruments and assist physicians during procedures.
• Operate imaging equipment and document data to PACS.
• Assist with patient positioning and transfers.
• Maintain sterile environment and follow ALARA radiation safety.
• Transport patients and monitor vitals pre- and post-procedure.
• Coordinate pathology pickups and specimen documentation.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies (Spacetrax).
• Assist front desk with scheduling and patient communication as needed.
