Job summary

Kelly Government Solutions is seeking a Registered Nurse for Interventional Radiology at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. This 13-week project offers the chance to work on-site with a multidisciplinary team supporting groundbreaking biomedical research and patient care.

You will provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care, manage vascular access, monitor vitals, administer medications, and ensure documentation compliance within NIH policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: Undergraduate or graduate nursing degree appropriate to the Radiology subspecialty.
• Licensure: Current, active RN license in at least one U.S. state or DC.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
• Experience: 2 years of IR experience.
• Credentialing: NIH Clinical Center credentialing and onboarding including licensure/education verification, health requirements, N95 fit testing, background check, orientation, and required training; U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
• Assess and prepare patients, establish vascular access, verify clinical information and consent.
• Administer medications, contrast, and moderate sedation within scope and NIH policy.
• Monitor vital signs, rhythm, oxygenation, pain, and consciousness during procedures and recovery.
• Assist with image-guided procedures while maintaining sterile technique and safety.
• Recognize and respond to changes, complications, and emergencies.
• Complete post-procedure monitoring, education, handoffs, and documentation.
• Collaborate with the team and follow NIH, Joint Commission, infection-control, confidentiality, and radiation-safety requirements.
