Job summary

Interventional Radiology Physician sought for a hospital-based contract in Syracuse, NY. The assignment runs 11/01/2026 to 10/31/2027, with full-time schedule and weekday coverage.

Responsibilities include on-site IR care, a broad range of procedures (angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, biopsies, drainage), CT- and ultrasound-guided interventions, pre- and post-procedure planning, and maintaining credentialing. BLS required; 1+ year IR/Radiology experience. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in medicine required.
• 1+ year of experience in Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, or Radiology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC).

• Provide on-site Interventional Radiology care and on-call consultation.
• Perform a broad range of IR procedures (angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, biopsies, central line placement, embolization, drain/tube placement, dialysis access interventions, IVC filter placement, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, vertebroplasty).
• Perform CT-guided and ultrasound-guided procedures.
• Pre-procedure planning, physician consultation, post-procedure evaluation, follow-up, and complication management.
• Participate in quality improvement and administrative activities.
• Maintain clinical privileges and credentialing requirements.

Seeking an Interventional Radiology Physician for a hospital-based contract opportunity providing comprehensive Interventional Radiology services, including weekday clinical coverage and shared on-call responsibilities. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality care to Veterans while collaborating with physicians and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site Interventional Radiology care and on-call consultation.
• Perform a broad range of IR procedures, including angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, biopsies, central line placement, embolization, drain/tube placement, dialysis access interventions, IVC filter placement, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, vertebroplasty, and related procedures.
• Perform CT-guided and ultrasound-guided procedures.
