Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) in Interventional Radiology for a Monday–Friday, 7am–6pm schedule. The role collaborates with interventional radiologists to assess and treat patients in ambulatory and inpatient settings.

The position requires NY State licensure as PA or RN/NP, board certification (NCCPA/ANCC/AANP), BLS/ACLS, and EMR proficiency. NP or PA education paths are detailed in qualifications; 1–2 years outpatient experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current New York State licensure as a Physician Assistant or a Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner
• Board certification from NCCPA, ANCC or AANP
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-procedure assessment and education for patients and families
• Conduct history and physical exams
• Act as liaison between referring physicians, patients, and radiologists
• Manage ambulatory and inpatient procedure schedules
• Order and interpret labs; prescribe medications as appropriate
• Coordinate care across radiology modalities and inpatient floors
• Escalate post-procedure issues as needed
• Insert, evaluate, and maintain PICCs
• Process Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
• Order and administer contrast agents; provide premedication assessments
