TheInterventional Radiology (IR) Division at Mayo Clinic Floridasupports the needs of a destination medical center, delivering high-level care with a strong focus oninterventional oncology and transplantation. The division performs more than8,000 minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures annually, supported by10 board-certified interventional radiologistsin a state-of-the‑art facility featuringfour single-plane interventional suitesandone CT/angiography hybrid room. With the planned addition oftwo new procedure rooms in 2027, we are seeking highly qualified candidates to support both asubspecialized outpatient IR practiceand arobust, expanding inpatient service.
A well-establishedoutpatient clinicsupports a thriving consultation practice and has facilitated furtherIR subspecialization. The interventional oncology program is actively engaged in multidisciplinarytumor boardsand offers a comprehensive range oftransarterial and ablative therapies. The inpatient IR service is transitioning to aprimary consult model, with substantial support fromresidents and advanced practice providers (APPs). Interventional radiologists participate in inpatient consult coverage on arotational basis, integrated with primary call responsibilities. Additionally, IR faculty are responsible for theprimary interpretation of diagnostic vascular imaging, includingCT and MR angiography.
Consistent withMayo Clinic’s missionof patient care, education, and research, the department fully supports theintegrated IR residency,independent IR residency, andEarly Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR)pathways. Faculty members are expected to actively engage inteaching and researchwithin both the interventional and diagnostic radiology training programs.
The Department of Radiology is further supported by10 experienced advanced practice providers (APRNs and PAs)who work collaboratively with IR faculty to deliver comprehensive patient care.
