Prisma Health's Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform peripheral and neurological diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic procedures under supervision.

The role involves assisting Radiologists in invasive procedures, contrast administration, radiation safety, and maintaining quality through exposure control and QC tasks. Day shift, hospital setting, with opportunities to collaborate across departments.

Formación

• Graduate of approved school of Radiologic Technology
• 1 year experience in interventional radiology, cath lab, or diagnostic radiology
• ARRT registered
• BLS certification

Responsabilidades

• Performs peripheral and neurological diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
• Assists Radiologists with invasive procedures using aseptic technique
• Administers contrast materials as prescribed
• Maintains radiation safety and QC tasks per regulations
• Stays informed of department/organizational updates and participates in call rotation

Job Summary

This job, under the direction of a radiologist or physician performs peripheral and neurological diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical data. The technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Essential Functions

• Performs all procedures proficiently and strives to maintain high quality.
• Assists Radiologists and/or Physician with invasive procedures using aseptic/sterile technique.
• Properly prepares and administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures that are within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol.
• Prepares room for procedures using approved cleaning protocol. Appropriately discards sharps and maintains adequate level of supplies and linen.
• Assures that proper radiation safety measures are being utilized.
• Implements emergency procedures, as needed.
• Performs department and hospital related computer functions pertinent to job. Enters and records data accurately and promptly. Exhibits competency in performing QC tasks associated with equipment and procedures and ensures standards are met according to state and federal regulations.
• Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
• Participates independently in call rotation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
• Experience - One (1) year experience in interventional radiology, cath lab, or diagnostic radiology.

In Lieu Of

• May consider clinical rotations during a formal educational program as experience.
• Team members in this job as of 11/08/2020 are grandfathered from the minimum requirements listed above pending state and regulatory requirements.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

• Registered in primary modality preferred
• ARRT registered
• SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
• BLS certification
