Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, manage imaging protocols, and ensure patient safety across diverse ages. You will position patients, select protocols, and utilize imaging equipment with proficiency.

ARRT/ARDMS registration and BLS certification are required or obtained upon hire; no experience is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required.
• ARDMS or ARRT registration upon hire; BLS upon hire; VI/CI certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures with appropriate patient positioning and protocol selection.
• Adheres to established imaging protocols and radiation safety policies.
• Provides patient education and age-appropriate care across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Maintains competency for related components and ensures accurate documentation.
• Ensures quality imaging and adherence to dose reduction principles.
• Communicates effectively with patients and care teams throughout procedures.
• Position and operate imaging equipment for radiological exams as required.

Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• Graduate of an accredited AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program Required

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• No experience required

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (R) Upon Hire Required and
• BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• Advance Certification by ARRT in Vascular-Interventional Radiographer (VI) or Cardiac Interventional Radiographer (CI). Preferred
