Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiology Radiographer to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensure post-processing documentation, and maintain high-quality patient care across adult to geriatric populations.

The role requires ARDMS or ARRT registration upon hire and BLS certification. A VI/CI specialty is preferred, with a strong emphasis on radiation safety and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program required.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures including angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies.
• Completes all post processing functions and related record keeping.
• Follows established protocols for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Demonstrates competence in interventional radiology procedures on patients of all ages.
• Adheres to Radiation Safety Policies and dose reduction practices.
• Provides patient education and communication.
• Positioning, protocol selection and equipment operation for radiological exams across age groups.

Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Graduate of an accredited AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program Required

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (R) Upon Hire Required and
• BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• Advance Certification by ARRT in Vascular-Interventional Radiographer (VI) or Cardiac Interventional Radiographer (CI). Preferred
