Job Description

Nemours is seeking an Interventional RAD Tech (Interventional Radiology), CASUAL/PRN, to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 130-bed pediatric hospital features a 24-hour Emergency Department designed for kids and outpatient pediatric clinics across various specialties. The hospital blends healing nature with healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to children in Central Florida and beyond.

The Special Procedures/Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist will perform interventional radiology procedures under supervision of a licensed practitioner. Responsibilities include patient care, operation and maintenance of IR equipment, and participation in quality assurance programs. The IR technologist must be ARRT registered and adhere to hospital policies.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting AIDET interactions and providing accurate instructions to patients and families.
  2. Knowledge of IR imaging protocols, sterile procedures, radiation safety, and equipment maintenance.
  3. Performing venipuncture, starting IVs, accessing ports, administering medications, and performing cardiovascular and fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed.
  4. Placing and removing central lines, ensuring patient safety, accurate documentation, and proper image identification.
  5. Preparing patients and rooms, maintaining work habits, operating hospital computer systems, and providing age-appropriate care.

Minimum requirements:

  1. Associate's Degree.
  2. 6 months to 1-year experience.
  3. Florida Radiation License, ARRT registration, and BLS certification.
  4. Preferred: Advanced Cardio-Vascular certification.
