Job summary

Endeavor Health Careers is seeking an Interventional Procedures Assistant for Edward Hospital in Naperville. Weekday day shift, on-site, with rotating on-call responsibilities including some weekends.

Performs procedural support, equipment prep, and vascular access under the procedural team. Requires a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification; ideal candidates are nursing or allied health students seeking hands-on experience in an acute care environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification: BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a combination of tasks/skills pre, during, and after the procedure to assist the procedural team (physicians, registered nurses and radiologic technologists).
  • Prepares sterile and nonsterile equipment, catheters, and technology utilized pre, intra, and post procedure.
  • Performs as a scrub assist aiding the physician and Radiology Technologist in circulating the procedure, setting up equipment, obtaining the necessary equipment.
  • Assist physician in obtaining vascular access (femoral, radial, brachial, jugular, peripheral, and transseptal), central venous line placement, and drain placement.
  • Responsible for supply management and restocking of supplies

Hourly Pay Range: $26.42 - $40.95 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Position Highlights:

  • Department: Interventional Radiology
  • Location: Edward Hospital
  • Hours: Weekday, day shift (7:30 am start), must commit to full day (7:30 am – 6 pm/TBD)
  • On Call: Rotating on-call responsibility (includes some weekends)
  • What you will do:
  • Performs a combination of tasks/skills pre, during, and after the procedure to assist the procedural team (physicians, registered nurses and radiologic technologists).
  • Prepares both sterile and nonsterile equipment, catheters, and technology utilized pre, intra, and post procedure
  • Performs as a scrub assist aiding the physician and Radiology Technologist in circulating the procedure, setting up equipment, obtaining the necessary equipment needed for the procedure, open product as needed and dropping onto sterile table.
  • Assist physician in obtaining vascular access (femoral, radial, brachial, jugular, peripheral, and transseptal), central venous line placement, and drain placement.
  • Responsible for supply management and restocking of supplies
  • The functional demands of the job are medium, requiring high energy level. Activity level throughout the work day; lift and carry 40-50 lbs., push/ pull +/- 150 – 200 lbs
