Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to support diagnostic and interventional procedures at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital's Interventional Platform in IL. Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, and imaging, with on-call rotations and 60-minute residency requirement.

Required IL RT license, AART, and 2-year radiology degree; BLS, ACLS within 6 months. On-site work with a 40-hour week and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Two-year radiology associate degree from an accredited program.
  • Previous imaging experience in X-ray or interventional procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scrub support during diagnostic and interventional procedures and anticipate provider needs.
  • Competent in all Cath/EP or IR roles and operate imaging equipment safely.
  • Act as radiation safety resource; ensure QA of imaging, hemodynamics, and oximetry.
  • Maintain safety, sterile technique, and proper patient prep, draping, and circulation.
  • Document care, educate patients, and coordinate plan of care with team.
  • Serve as team resource; conduct inservices on technical skill and safety.
  • Assist with supply inventory and act as technical expert to the site.
  • Participate in site/system teams and continue education opportunities.

Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Schedule:Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
On-Call Requirement:Participation in the on-call rotation is required. Team members must reside within 60 minutes of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. On-call responsibilities are typically7–10 days per month, including weekdays and weekends as scheduled.

Pay Range:

$38.20 - $57.30

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provides scrub support during diagnostic and interventional procedures; anticipates provider needs.
  • Competent in all roles for Cath/EP or IR.
  • Demonstrates competence in operation of all imaging and related equipment; serves as a radiation expert resource.
  • Provides clear communication, collaborates with providers and team regarding technical issue to ensure reliability of quality assurance in imaging, hemodynamics and oximetry.
  • Ensures patient care is delivered in a safe manner and within scope of practice. Sterile technique followed with prepping, draping, assisting and circulating.
  • Utilizes safety tools and tactics in all patient care interactions.
  • Serves as patient advocate, ensures documentation, educational needs identified and plan of care agreed upon.
  • Serves as resource to the team; provides inservices to team relating to technical skill enhancement, radiation safety, image quality, QA and closure device techniques.
  • Assist with supply inventory, serves as technical expert and resource.
  • Actively participates in site or system teams; attends site staff meetings and ongoing educational offerings as available.
Education/Experience Required:
  • Current RT licensure in State of IL and current AART. BLS. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • 2-year Associate Degree from Accredited School of Radiology.
  • Previous Imaging Experience Preferred in Xray, Imaging Special Procedures

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to perform lifting, pulling, pushing activities and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis.
