Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for the Interventional Platform at Good Shepherd Hospital in Illinois. You will provide scrub support, operate imaging equipment, and participate in QA, radiation safety, and patient care within the Cath/IR environment.

The role requires IL RT licensure, AART, and an Associate Degree in Radiology, with on-call obligations and a $10,000 sign-on bonus. On-site schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Current RT licensure in State of IL and current AART; BLS/ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • 2-year Associate Degree from an accredited Radiology program.
  • Prior imaging experience in X-ray or interventional radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides scrub support during diagnostic and interventional procedures; anticipates provider needs.
  • Competent in all roles for Cath/EP or IR and operates imaging equipment safely.
  • Communicates clearly with team; ensures QA, image quality, and documentation.
  • Maintains sterile technique; assists, preps, drapes, circulates.
  • Serves as patient advocate; participates in training and education for the team.
  • Manages supply inventory and acts as a technical resource.
  • Participates in site/team meetings and ongoing education.

Schedule Details/Additional Information

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

On-Call Requirement: Participation in the on-call rotation is required. Team members must reside within 60 minutes of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. On-call responsibilities are typically 7–10 days per month, including weekdays and weekends as scheduled.

Eligible for $10,000 sign on bonus

Pay Range $38.20 - $57.30

Major Responsibilities

  • Provides scrub support during diagnostic and interventional procedures; anticipates provider needs.
  • Competent in all roles for Cath/EP or IR.
  • Demonstrates competence in operation of all imaging and related equipment; serves as a radiation expert resource.
  • Provides clear communication, collaborates with providers and team regarding technical issue to ensure reliability of quality assurance in imaging, hemodynamics and oximetry.
  • Ensures patient care is delivered in a safe manner and within scope of practice. Sterile technique followed with prepping, draping, assisting and circulating.
  • Utilizes safety tools and tactics in all patient care interactions.
  • Serves as patient advocate, ensures documentation, educational needs identified and plan of care agreed upon.
  • Serves as resource to the team; provides inservices to team relating to technical skill enhancement, radiation safety, image quality, QA and closure device techniques.
  • Assist with supply inventory, serves as technical expert and resource.
  • Actively participates in site or system teams; attends site staff meetings and ongoing educational offerings as available.

Education/Experience Required

  • Current RT licensure in State of IL and current AART. BLS. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • 2-year Associate Degree from Accredited School of Radiology.
  • Previous Imaging Experience Preferred in Xray, Imaging Special Procedures

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

  • Ability to perform lifting, pulling, pushing activities and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
