Job summary

Metrolina Nephrology Associates is seeking an Interventional Nephrologist to provide comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease in the Charlotte metro area. The role includes management of ESRD, CKD, and dialysis therapies, with responsibilities in ASC settings and participation in on-call coverage.

The ideal candidate is fellowship-trained in Nephrology with ASDIN certification for dialysis access procedures and able to work collaboratively in a patient-centered team environment.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with residency in Internal Medicine or Nephrology.
• Fellowship training in Nephrology and ASDIN certification for dialysis access.
• Experience in ESRD, CKD, dialysis modalities and plasmapheresis/leukapheresis.
• Able to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to patients with kidney disease including ESRD and CKD.
• Manage CRRT and dialysis therapies and prescribe plasmapheresis/leukapheresis.
• Perform dialysis access procedures in ambulatory surgery centers (ASC).
• Share evening and weekend call for nephrology issues; travel as needed for on-call coverage.

Role Description

This is a full-time role as a Nephrologist at Metrolina Nephrology Associates located in Charlotte, NC. As a Nephrologist, you will be responsible for providing specialized medical care to patients with kidney disease. Your day-to-day tasks will include providing treatment of end stage renal disease (ESRD), manage continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and chronic kidney disease (CKD), including clinic visits and prescribe and manage plasmapheresis and leukapheresis. You will also be responsible for performing dialysis access procedures in our Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC), including: fistuolgrams, angioplasties, thrombectomies, tunneled catheter procedures, and peritoneal dialysis catheter procedures. Responsible for shared evening and weekend call for nephrology problems. Travel to locations within commuting distance when on call, to cover rounds, or as needed for vacation and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and completion of residency in Internal Medicine or Nephrology
• Fellowship training in Nephrology ASDIN certified for dialysis access procedures
• Experience in renal failure, chronic kidney disease, ESRD, hypertension, in-center hemodialysis, home dialysis including hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis, CVVHD, CVVHDF, plasmapheresis and leukapheresis
• Experience in dialysis access procedures (tunneled catheter placement and exchanges, angiogram, angioplasty, endovascular stent placement, fistuolgrams, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, accessory vein ablation, peritoneal dialysis catheter placement.)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment
