Job summary

Hudson Regional Health is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Technician for the cath lab in Secaucus, NJ. You will prepare patients, operate hemodynamic equipment, and assist physicians during interventional and diagnostic procedures.

The role requires NJ licensure as a cardiovascular technologist, strong teamwork, and the ability to manage stress while delivering excellent patient care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of the physician, prepares patients, assembles and operates hemodynamic and electrophysiologic equipment during interventional and diagnostic procedures.
• Comforts patients by welcoming them to the cardiology suite, answering their questions, and responding to requests.
• Completes electro-cardiograms (EKGs or ECGs) by attaching electrodes to the patient’s chest, arms, and legs.
• Completes treadmill stress tests by connecting patients to EKG monitors.
• Completes non-invasive peripheral vascular tests by collecting ultrasound echoes to form a screen image of the heart function, blood flow, and circulation.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following asepsis standards.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Registers patients by entering anticipated service data into the patient record, verifying medical history.
• Comforts patients by welcoming them to the cardiology suite, answering their questions, and responding to requests.
• Supports physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular ailments with the use of a catheter.
• Assists physician in performing invasive procedures. Performs related radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging techniques to demonstrate catheter location, position and document findings.
• Maintains a well-stocked and clean work environment.
• Works collaboratively with the Cath Lab team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes and quality care

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 2 years of work experience preferred.
• Active cardiovascular technologist license in NJ
• Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology from a University, Bachelor’s degree in cardiovascular technology or an undergraduate certificate in cardiovascular technology.
