Job summary

Youngstown City Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist with MM licensure to support students with dyslexia and provide targeted instruction in early elementary settings.

The Dyslexia laws require 18 hours of PD aligned with the Ohio Dyslexia Guidebook; preference will initially be given to internal applicants per the YEA bargaining unit.

• Must hold Intervention Specialist MM licensure.
• 18 hours of Ohio Dyslexia PD aligned with the Dyslexia Guidebook.

Licensure Area Required -Intervention Specialist MM

The Dyslexia Support Laws require all kindergarten through third grade teachers, as well as teachers providing special education instruction to children in kindergarten through grade 12, to complete professional development on identifying characteristics of dyslexia and understanding pedagogy for instruction of students with dyslexia. The Ohio Dyslexia Committee is requiring educators to complete 18 hours of professional development aligned with the Ohio Dyslexia Guidebook.
