The Western Buckeye Educational Service Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Intervention Specialist to primarily serve middle school students at the Paulding County Opportunity Center. The Intervention Specialist provides specialized instruction to students with disabilities by developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), adapting curriculum, and using a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs. The role includes maintaining student progress data, collaborating with teachers and families, and ensuring compliance with state and federal special education requirements. Responsibilities also include creating a positive learning environment, supporting student academic and behavioral growth, and maintaining required documentation and communication. Candidates should hold appropriate Ohio licensure and demonstrate strong communication, organization, collaboration, and classroom management skills, along with the ability to support diverse learners effectively.

The Paulding County Opportunity School encompasses students from Antwerp Local Schools, Paulding Exempted Village Schools and Wayne Trace Local Schools in grades K-12. Our school offers tailored educational experiences for both special education and regular education students who desire an alternative school setting in order to meet their educational needs and graduation requirements. We work in tandem with our member schools to provide our students with customized educational opportunities, while still maintaining partnerships with the students’ member school district. While students complete their academic preparation at the Paulding County Opportunity School, they are welcome to participate in athletic and extra-curricular activities at their home school.
