Who We Are:

The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Intervention Specialistat Roosevelt MiddleSchoolfor the 2026-2027school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre‑K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As a Intervention Specialist you are required to:

• Possesses or have applied for an Intervention Specialist license or have the ability to obtain a supplemental license as an Intervention Specialist issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
• Ability to lead professional development of school‑wide restorative practices
• Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions
• Be willing to serve on teams
• Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role

As a Intervention Specialist you will:

• The ability to effectively differentiate instruction
• Accurately analyze data to plan instruction that is aligned to the common core State Standards
• Be able to effectively manage and instruct whole and small groups
• Have experience with writing standards‑based IEPs
• Use research based pedagogy with excellent background knowledge of all content standards
• Developing lesson plans and instructional materials and providing individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of each student.
• Actively engaging at‑risk students in the learning process; planning and using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
• Recognizing the needs of individual students and the entire group and offering support and flexibility as needed.
• Working as part of a cooperative and diverse team of educators and administrators to carry out the goals of our District.
• Utilizing technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Participating in professional development activities that are aligned with district and building goals, assigned subject content and the varied needs of students.
