  • Conduct weekly grade checks for students on the assigned caseload.

  • Monitor missing assignments, academic progress, and outstanding work.

  • Help students develop time-management, self-advocacy, and independent learning skills.

  • Communicate with classroom teachers to identify concerns and coordinate student support.

  • Encourage students to take ownership of their academic progress and celebrate their growth.

Part 2: ESL Reading Tutor & English Language Development

Provide reading-based English language development support to a group of up to 25 students participating in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide targeted reading support to English Language Learners.

  • Build English vocabulary, reading comprehension, fluency, and language skills through structured reading activities.

  • Help students develop confidence in reading, speaking, listening, and understanding English.

  • Use engaging, age-appropriate texts and activities to support language development.

  • Collaborate with ESL teachers and classroom staff to reinforce instructional goals.

  • Monitor student participation and growth and share relevant progress information with the appropriate team members.

  • Create a welcoming, encouraging environment that respects students' diverse language backgrounds and learning needs.
