Job summary

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a Public Health Epidemiologist II (Interstate Liaison) to coordinate data transfers of TB patients across city, state, and international jurisdictions. You will ensure incoming patients are referred for care and outgoing cases are followed up with the BTBC team.

Ideal candidates have strong public health data experience, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently across complex interagency collaborations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in epidemiology or public health with epidemiology focus or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree plus two years of data collection and medical chart interpretation for surveillance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison to city, state, and international jurisdictions for TB data transfer.
• Send/receive data to jurisdictions as required by protocol.
• Ensure timely referrals and data entry for TB patients entering/leaving NYC.
• Track referrals and maintain complete Maven records.
• Review patients during transfer and ensure proper referral and follow-up.
• Monitor Maven workflows for data quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal and external agency partners.
