Fuss & O'Neill in Springfield, MA is seeking an engineering intern for the Transportation Business Unit, focusing on highway and traffic design. The 12-week paid summer program offers real client project experience in a collaborative environment.

The position is full-time Monday through Friday and may sit out of Springfield, MA, with flexible/remote work opportunities. During the internship you will assist with roadway design, traffic studies, and planning using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Synchro,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in civil engineering and/or transportation engineering
• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or similar programs is a plus
• Proficiency with MS Office programs
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. of equipment

Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway and traffic engineering design, including signals, signs, and pavement markings
• Support traffic studies, data collection, and analysis of traffic flow and patterns
• Contribute to transportation planning and traffic impact studies, including permit applications
• Conduct field visits, surveys, and construction support activities
• Prepare technical reports and utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Synchro

The Transportation Business Unit is seeking an engineering intern to support a variety of projects, with a focus on highway, roadway, and traffic engineering design.

Our internship program is a 12-week paid summer program. We offer in depth work experience on real client projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. The position is full-time Monday through Friday and may sit out of Springfield, MA.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway and traffic engineering design, including signals, signs, and pavement markings
• Support traffic studies, data collection, and analysis of traffic flow and patterns

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
