Job summary

The Walsh Group is currently seeking Interns for projects in Norwood, MA, Winthrop, MA and Westfield, MA. The program prepares you for leadership roles on and off the jobsite, with hands-on experience in project engineering and field management.

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager or field supervision with coordination.
• Estimate costs for change orders.
• Solicit bidders and coordinate subcontractors.
• Schedule contracts and materials.
• Maintain document control.
• Coordinate subcontractors.
• Support safety management.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Write RFIs and submittals; assist with change orders.

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking Interns for our projects in the Norwood, MA, Winthrop, MA and Westfield, MA

Our internship program will prepare you for leadership positions both on and off the jobsite. Our program allows you to travel across the United States and through operational divisions to gain hands-on experience in project engineering and field management. We carefully match you with positions related to your academic and career goals, setting you up for the right career path after graduation. Our interns work on jobsites or in the office helping with pursuits in our estimating and preconstruction departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interns will learn about multiple career paths in our company, and will be trained to become a full-time employee after college graduation. Some duties and responsibilities include:

• Assisting project manager or field supervision staff with project coordination

• Estimating cost for change orders

• Soliciting bidders and coordinate subcontractor activity

• Scheduling of various contracts and materials

• Document control

• Coordination of subcontractors

• Safety management

• Participation in team meetings

• Writing RFIs, submittals, and assisting in change orders

QUALIFICATIONS

• Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred

• The ability to work a 12-week work schedule is preferred

• Specific roles may require relocation

• The anticipated salary range for this position is $22-$25/hr.

• Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, location, and business needs.
