Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. seeks interns for our Kentucky Region in Lexington, Hamburg or Louisville. This program prepares you for leadership positions on and off the jobsite, offering hands-on experience in project engineering and field management.

Interns work on jobsites or in the office, assisting with pursuits in estimating and preconstruction. You may travel across the United States to gain exposure across operational divisions and align with your academic and career goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 12-week work schedule preferred.
• Relocation may be required for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager or field supervision staff with project coordination.
• Estimate costs for change orders.
• Solicit bidders and coordinate subcontractor activity.
• Schedule contracts and materials.
• Document control and subcontractor coordination.
• Assist with safety management and team meetings.
• Prepare RFIs and submittals; assist in change orders.

OVERVIEW

We carefully match you with positions related to your academic and career goals, setting you up for the right career path after graduation. Our interns work on jobsites or in the office helping with pursuits in our estimating and preconstruction departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting project manager or field supervision staff with project coordination
• Estimating cost for change orders
• Soliciting bidders and coordinate subcontractor activity
• Scheduling of various contracts and materials
• Document control
• Coordination of subcontractors
• Safety management
• Participation in team meetings
• Writing RFIs, submittals, and assisting in change orders

QUALIFICATIONS

• Seeking a bachelor's degree is preferred
• The ability to work a 12-week work schedule is preferred
• Specific roles may require relocation
