Eaton Corporation is seeking highly motivated engineering students for its Applications Engineering Internship Program. You will collaborate with lead engineers to develop test fixtures, document control schematics, and drive improvements in engineering systems to support customer requirements.
Relocation within the United States is required as part of the program, and the role provides exposure to power distribution technologies and leadership opportunities with senior engineers.

In our Applications Engineering Internship Program: You will accelerate your career by gaining hands‑on power distribution and control product knowledge.
Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The salary for this role ranges from $20.77 - $25.96 per hour.
Work with a team to develop test fixtures for verifying performance of various elements of Switchgear and Motor Control assemblies. As a member of the team, you will work with lead engineers on design principles such as defining requirements, contributing to definition of hardware design, define test plans and perform validation testing to confirm that system and functional requirements are met.
Work with a team to document and organize standards for control schematics along with other collateral utilized to fulfill customer requirements.
Work with a team to improve productivity of the application engineering function through testing and implementation of engineering systems.
Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in electrical or mechanical engineering from accredited institution
Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 (please don't round)

Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States
Actively enrolled in an electrical engineering program
Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 of higher
Completion of sophomore year by the start of the application
Prior internship or co-op experience
Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
Demonstrate geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the Internship to an Eaton facility including Asheville, NC, Fayetteville, NC, Greenwood, SC, El Paso, TX; Sumter, SC
Strong analytical, computer, writing, presentation and customer service skills
Ability to communicate technical information to customers and manufacturing
Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical engineering
Knowledge of design standards
