Lumentum Inc. in San Jose, CA seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to contribute to the development of structure for new Cloud Module products, from chip and component levels to transceiver assembly.

You will support design ideas, build prototypes, and perform thermal and GD&T analyses while gaining hands-on experience with SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Agile processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
• Strong foundational knowledge in relevant concepts.
• Able to commit to full internship period.

Responsabilités

They have been facing great challenges to offer sound mechanical structure, thermal performance, and stable signal integrity for many market-first products.ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Engineering Intern’s responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:Provide genuine ideas for new chip, component, and Module designBuild product prototypesPerform thermal stress analysis for new or existed package designPerform GD&T analysisInvolve DFM activitiesMinimum QualificationsCurrently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate engineering, mechanical or related technical programs.Foundational knowledge of concepts, tools, or methods relevant to the internship.Demonstrated ability to apply classroom learning through coursework, projects, laboratory work, research, or other relevant experience.Available for the full internship period.Desired QualificationsKnowledge of FEA software such as ANSYS is a plus.Experience in opto-mechanical designsExperience with production developmentAbilities in mechanical design, drafting, tolerance analysis, and familiar with tools like: SolidWorks, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Agile.Pay Range:Disclaimer:Final base salary for the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job location, where work will be performed, qualifications, work history and relevant experience.
