Job summary

ASML US is seeking an intern to work with local engineers, project managers, and leaders. The role focuses on understanding ASML workflows, documenting goals, and presenting summer findings. Interns will document progress, collaborate across teams, and deliver an end-of-summer presentation highlighting achievements and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• 60 hours of progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field with a December 2027 or May 2028 graduation.
• Engineering disciplines include Physics, Electrical Eng, Electronics, Micro‑electronics, Mechanical Eng, Materials Science Eng, Chemical Eng, IC manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document goals and targets (KPIs).
• Evaluate current processes and update documentation for LEAN/6 Sigma improvements.
• Create data visualizations to identify opportunities for automation (Tableau/Power BI/Python).
• Collaborate with engineers from other areas to identify Best Known Methods (BKMs).

Introduction to the job

ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy‑efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon. The Customer Support (CS) organization is responsible for the installation, qualification, repair and maintenance of the ASML systems at customer sites and the necessary transfer of know‑how to the customer. This internship sits within our EUV UIR (Upgrades, Installs, and Relocation) team that partners with the local Customer Support branches to perform these tasks for the customers within the specific region.

Roles and responsibilities

The goal of the internship is to work in a team environment alongside local experienced engineers, project managers, and leaders to gain insight on the ASML ways of working and our groundbreaking technology. Specific projects will be tailored to match the education/experience level of the intern as well as the interns learning objectives for the summer. Interns will typically be required to document and present their findings as well as making an end of summer presentation to the group about what they achieved during their internship.

Education and experience

Minimum 60 hours completed towards a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field and an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.

The environment generally is moderate in temperature and noise level.
