Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program with a STEM focus.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Interest in engineering, maintenance, equipment reliability and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of control systems, robotics, maintenance, electrical or mechanical systems.
  • Programming knowledge and proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance management activities and initiatives that improve equipment and system performance.
  • Support preventive maintenance processes, equipment inspections, troubleshooting activities, and safety practices.
  • Help review and improve routine maintenance and repair checklists.
  • Assist with data entry, maintenance shift reports, equipment records, and maintenance software updates.
  • Apply basic mechanical, electrical, and automation principles while supporting daily operations.
  • Participate in equipment troubleshooting efforts and help identify opportunities to reduce repetitive breakdowns and improve reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, safety initiatives, and other assigned learning projects.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the maintenance and engineering teams while developing a practical understanding of terminal equipment and asset management processes.

Under supervision, you may:

  • Assist with maintenance management activities and initiatives that improve equipment and system performance.
  • Support preventive maintenance processes, equipment inspections, troubleshooting activities, and safety practices.
  • Help review and improve routine maintenance and repair checklists.
  • Assist with data entry, maintenance shift reports, equipment records, and maintenance software updates.
  • Apply basic mechanical, electrical, and automation principles while supporting daily operations.
  • Participate in equipment troubleshooting efforts and help identify opportunities to reduce repetitive breakdowns and improve reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, safety initiatives, and other assigned learning projects.
What We Are Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program with a STEM focus, preferably Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Interest in engineering, maintenance, equipment reliability, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge or experience in control systems, robotics, maintenance, mechanical systems, or electrical systems is preferred.
  • Programming knowledge and proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions in a dynamic operational environment.
Work Schedule

Interns will work full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year. No overtime.

Additional Information

This internship requires working both in office and operational environments. You may spend time indoors using computer systems and maintenance software, as well as outdoors supporting equipment-related activities and learning opportunities. The role provides exposure to real-world maintenance operations, engineering processes, and asset management practices while adhering to established safety standards. Interns work full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year. This position is hourly, non-exempt, and is intended to provide valuable training and work experience for students pursuing academic studies.
