Grassi is seeking an International Tax Manager for its New York City office. You will lead complex U.S. international tax engagements for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals, and guide cross-border planning strategies with global implications.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with multiple service lines, and partner with foreign advisors to deliver comprehensive tax solutions while managing timelines and client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • CPA license.

  • Analyze tax consequences of inbound/outbound investments, restructurings, and global expansion initiatives.
  • Serve as internal international tax resource and mentor staff.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an International Tax Manager to join our team in our New York City office location. This role offers exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading and managing complex U.S. international tax compliance engagements for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of international information returns, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 8938, 8992, 8993, 1118, 926, 8621, FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR), and related filings.
  • Advising clients on cross-border tax planning strategies involving Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFCs), Subpart F, NCTI, foreign tax credits, transfer pricing, treaty positions, and foreign reporting requirements.
  • Analyzing the U.S. tax consequences of inbound and outbound investments, international restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, entity classifications, and global expansion initiatives.
  • Serving as the firm’s internal international tax technical resource, providing guidance to partners, managers, and staff on clients with international tax considerations.
  • Supporting engagement teams across all service lines by identifying international tax risks, reporting obligations, and planning opportunities affecting their clients.
  • Collaborating with State and Local Tax, Trust and Estate, Transaction Advisory, Audit, and Client Accounting Services teams on multidisciplinary client engagements.
  • Coordinating with foreign tax advisors, legal counsel, and other external professionals to develop and implement global tax solutions.
  • Researching and interpreting U.S. tax laws, Treasury Regulations, tax treaties, IRS guidance, and foreign tax developments affecting clients.
  • Mentoring, training, and developing tax professionals while providing technical leadership and quality review of engagement work products.
  • Managing engagement budgets, staffing, project timelines, and overall client service delivery.
  • Participating in business development activities, including proposals, presentations, networking, and identifying opportunities to expand international tax services.
  • Developing internal training programs, technical alerts, and thought leadership materials to enhance firm-wide international tax knowledge and capabilities.
  • Seeking opportunities to contribute to training, recruiting, and retention efforts, supporting firm-wide and departmental goals
  • Preparing clear, concise, and professional client deliverables
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable professional standards and firm policies
  • Meeting project deadlines and manage time efficiently across multiple engagements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • CPA license
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CCH Axcess, and CaseWare
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Maintains high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for others

Compensation for this role determined based on combination of factors, including but not limited to your relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Salary ranges provided to offer transparency and may vary depending final candidate qualifications and local market conditions. Please find compensation information below for candidates residing following markets:

New York ranges are from $130,000 – $170,000.
