Job summary

University of Kansas is seeking a Research Project Coordinator to support MICROBENetNet across operations, communications, and events. The role centers on coordinating exchanges, colloquia, virtual programming, and meetings with PIs, ECRs, and network participants.

The position involves managing applications, travel logistics, and budget tracking while ensuring transparent evaluation and reporting to NSF partners.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with five years of related experience, or Bachelor's plus one year of related experience.
• Experience in multi-institutional, international environments, including communication across time zones and with collaborative teams whose first language is not English.
• Previous experience with report writing for grants.
• Previous experience utilizing accounting skills, as evident on application materials.
• Organization and written communication skills as evidenced in application materials.

Responsibilities

• Organize travel, travel awards, meetings, and conferences with coordination and reimbursement processing.
• Develop and maintain project communications and online platforms (Slack, Zoom, network site).
• Coordinate regular meetings, prepare agenda materials, track action items, and monitor timelines.
• Coordinate activities that support early-career researchers, including communication among graduate students and postdocs and networking opportunities.
• Assist with NSF reporting, program assessment, and network evaluation; meet reporting deadlines.
