Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States (Alabama) seeks a Senior Contracts Manager to own contract activities from bids to close-outs, coordinating with Operations, Legal, Finance, and Marketing. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements, ensure regulatory compliance (ITAR/EAR), and manage risk across international programs.

The role requires 6–8 years in aerospace/government contracting, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Domestic and international travel are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 6–8 years in aerospace/defense and/or government contracting, with international experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and international regulations (ITAR/EAR).
  • Experience with DCS/FMS, licensing, and complex contract drafting.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Job description

  • Partner with Operations, Contracts, Business Development, Strategy and Marketing, Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional teams on bids, proposals, negotiations, reviews, and contract administration
  • Manage contract activities throughout the lifecycle, including proposal preparation, pre- and post-award negotiations, modifications, close-outs, and program support
  • Draft, evaluate, and negotiate sales/purchase agreements, subcontracts, consulting agreements, license agreements, master agreements, and other contracts
  • Ensure contract terms comply with applicable regulations, requirements, and company policies
  • Manage and monitor long-term contract and agreement performance
  • Analyze and summarize contractual obligations, commitments, and performance for internal stakeholders
  • Analyze the impact of contract modifications and prepare recommendations and risk reviews for management
  • Coordinate flow-downs of terms and conditions across program management, engineering, product support, finance, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing
  • Lead internal and external audits as needed
  • Maintain accurate contract files, correspondence, changes, deviations, modifications, amendments, and clarifications
  • Review contract data in business systems for accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee contract document retrieval, validated data, report preparation, and status reviews
  • Travel approximately 25% domestically and internationally
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in aerospace/defense and/or government contracting, with significant international contracting experience
  • Current expertise in federal and international regulations and relevant legal concepts
  • Significant experience in international DCS/FMS contract administration and management
  • Experience developing innovative solutions and solving business problems
  • Ability to translate business and technical risk and communicate clearly to leadership
  • Proven contract drafting and negotiation skills, including leading complex negotiations
  • Commercial contracting knowledge
  • ITAR/EAR knowledge
  • FDCPA and similar regulatory knowledge
  • Working knowledge of U.S. government acquisition laws and regulations
  • Experience with firm-fixed-price, cost-type, commercial/non-commercial, production, development, and sustainment contracts
  • Experience with license, nondisclosure, and teaming agreements
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and customers
  • Able to obtain a U.S. security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental U.S. and internationally
  • CPCM certification preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Familiarity with finance and accounting procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR or be eligible for an export license
  • Must be willing to work on government contracts and have the ability to obtain a security clearance
